FOOTBALL NOTES.
A reminder is given of the benefit football match to be played on the Recreation Grounds to-morrow (Thursday) at 2.30 p.m. Tbo proceeds of the match will be devoted to the Mynott benefit fund. Judging from the large number of tickets already disposed of, a very substantial sum should be raised. As an exponent of football. Mynott has probably afforded the followers of the game more pleasure than any other player who ever donned a jersey in Taranaki, and it is befitting that the pleasure he has afforded onlookers of the game should be recognised in a tangible form. The match commences at 2.30.
On Saturday next the Star juniors will try conclusions with a team of High School Old Boys juniors, on the racecourse. This should prove a very interesting contest as both teams have some very promising players. The game starts at 3 p.m.
The annual meeting of the Northern Cemraittee of the Taranaki Rugby Referee’s Association is to he held at the office of the secretary (Mr. B. Petty), on Thursday evening, to which members and intending members are invited.
The following will represent Tukapa to-morrow in their match against Clifton at the Recreation Grounds at 2.30 p.m.—Kirk. M‘Hardy, Bracburn, Hurley, Hawke’s Cocker, Hughes, Brown, Loveridgo, Copestake, Gardiner, Oliver, Hooker, Boswell, Friar. Emergencies: Horsup, Stohr.
