SWEEPING FOR MINES.
LARGE FLEET AT WORK,

The Australian Press Association learns that 14,600 volunteers on hoard 430 British mine-sweepers are now working clearing up 100,000 British mines laid during the war. It is hoped to complete the work by the end of November. Drifting mines are common hut less dangerous than expected, as the bow waves of boats turn tho mines from impact.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
