FROM OUR OWN COimUSPONDEKT. 'May 19.—The football match between Wa it am and Inglewood played hero on Saturday resulted in a win for Inglewood by five points to three. Hueker (Inglewood) scored after a good run by Duggan, and Shenhan converted, AU.lvoy kicked a penalty gaol for Waiting. Judging by the noise of tho batrackers the game must have been well worth watching. Air. F. Julian acted as referee. . The Rev. E. L. Harvio stated in the Anglican Church last evening that it is now uncertain when hi> successor will roach Inglewood, as the military authorities at Trcntham are unable to spare him from the camp at present. At a- meeting of tho Inglewood Ladies’ Patriotic j.,eagne held to-drty, it was decided to hold a mart- on Saturday, May Ji, the proceeds to go towards the proposed recreation hall at the nurses’ home. New Plymouth, for a memorial to fallen Taranaki soldiers and the nur-ws who gave their lives during the epidemic. Air. RSnall. of Air. Newton King's staff has purchased Mrs. Looney’s Inglewood property. Airs. Looney’s many friends will wish her every prosperity in her new homo.
Air. L. Loftus. formerly on the staff of tho Bank of New South Wales hero, and who has been at tho front for tho last three years or more, has returned, ami is now on the staff of the Bank at Elthura.
