WESTERN PARK RESERVE.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —I quite agree with Mr. Skinner that we should not lose AVestern Park as a park and recreation ground for the future generations, and trust that it is not yet too late to prevent the AA T est End School being shifted to that site. I understand that it is proposed to transfer one half of the reserve for that purpose, which will render the balance useless for any other purpose than a playground for the youngsters ._ There are a number of education sections in the vicinity. AVhy not have the school shifted on to part of one of those reserves? As the town stretches out—and it is stretching out quite rapidly—the need for a cricket and football ground in the AVest End will be very much greater than just at present, so it behoves all supporters of these sports—especially as efforts are now being made to revive them—to see that the only suitable sit is not filched from them.—l' am, etc., CRICKETER.
