ANNUAL CONFERENCE. Per Press Association. INVEItCARGILL, March 3. The 40th annual conference of the Firo Brigades' Association opened today. The president (W. Cooper) referred to the splendid part the firemen had played in the war, and urged them to nee. that theA widows and families of those- who lost their lives were well provided for. The Hon. J. Hnnan hoped that some better financial provision for brigades would be established by Parliament. It was resolved, that tho executive committee appoint a deputation to wait on the Minister of Internal Affairs to placo the financial requirements of the brigades before him. The executive was instructed to appoint a deputation to wait upon the Minister of Internal Affairs re more equitable distribution of the cost of maintenance.
