DORSET ASHORE.

ON WARD ISLAND. •Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 11. No attempt was made to float the Dorset last night, except that the •teamer used her own her own engines without avail. Some cargo will be taken out and, another trial made. A TOW ATTEMPTED. WELLINGTON, Dec. 11. Another attempt was made at high water this morning to tow off the steamer Dorset which grounded yesterday in the vicinity of Ward. Island while coming up the harbour in squally weather. The cable steamer Iris and the tugs Terawhiti and Pelican were unable tew move her. The cargo is now being discharged into lighters, and it is. expected she will be got off before the end of the week. The vessel is not damaged.
