GERMAN BRUTALITY.

TO PRISONERS OF WAR,

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright,

PARIS, Nov. 28.

M. Ignace, Under-Secretary of Military Justice, informed the Chamber that Germany had captured 884,000, including 464,000 French, and had abandoned after the armistice 170,000 foodless prisoners west of the Rhine. Eighty per cent, of the food parcels sent to prisoners had been stolen. Tho Spanish and Swiss comntksioners had noted crimes against the prisoners which would shock the world. As the result of the inhuman German edict giving the Alsatians 24 hours to leave Germany and renounce their nationality, refugees are streaming across the Rhine into Strassburg. Mothers are carrying half-clad babies, and soldiers are tearing off their insignffi and tossing them into the river.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
