WELLINGTON BY-ELECTION.

PROBABLE CANDIDATES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. It is understood to be almost certain that Councillor George Frost will consent to stand for the Wellington South seat. The selection of a Labour candidate will he made at an early date. Mr. M. J. Reardon, president of the Trades and Labour Council, has been nominated by that body, and nominations are also expected from other organisations affiliated to the Labour Representation Committee, which will hold a ballot to decide who shall he the candidate. It is rumoured that Mr. M. J. Read (secretary of the Enginedrivers’ Association) and Mr. W. T. Young (general secretary of the Seamen’s Union) will he nominated by those bodies.
