OVER ALLIES’ VICTORY. UNIVERSAL FESTIVITIES. ' By Telegraph—Press Assn,—Copyright. DELHI, Nov, 27. To-day, was proclaimed ■ a public holiday.- Enthusiastic victory celebrations were held in India, and they wjll continue in certain localities till the 30th. The festivities include parades, processions, military sports, illuminations, fireworks, gifts of 'food and clothing to the poor, and. entertainments for the wounded. Practically every ruling chief in India has telegraphed to the Viceroy his congratulations on the Allies’ victory. Rejoicings are reported from Kabul, many parts of the north-west frontier, and Persian Gulf. Several Himalayan districts display, ed beacons on the hilltops. All -the prisoners returning from Turkey, and the troops from the fields of war will be entertained at the ports of arrival in India.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn, and Reuter.
