ATTEMPTED ROBBERY.

IN' ESTATE AGENT’S OFFICE. PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. HAMILTON, Feb. 6. Dio premises of George Boyds, estate agent, were entered by burglars last night. Boyes, on entering the front door, hoard someone jumping through the back window, and on investigating found that an attempt had' been mad© to blow up the safe. The handle had been blown to pieces, the lock was embedded in. the wall, and a fuse was on the floor. The crime was particularly daring, as it was only nine o’clock in the evening. The safe was just inside a window in tho busiest part of the main street. The police are investigating the crime, and think it was the wprk of an amateur.
