(Received Fob. 6, 12.45 p.m.) OTTAWA, Feb. 5, ' , Commander Frederick Wyatt, chief examining officer at Halifax, has been arrested on a charge of manslaughter in connection with the explosion on the steamer Imo, which collided with the munition ship Mont Blanc. Wyatt is accused of perfecting the sfiip movements in the harbour. Before doing her preliminary in the third race to-day Movement crashed into the inside rails and threw her rider, J. O’Shea, over the fence. Fortunately, however, he escaped with a severe shaking, and on remounting was given a round of applause. The ambulance was telephoned for and within a few minutes wap at the course. It would seem" wiser to have the ambulance in attendance throughout the races.' This ia done at other places, and after to-day’s experience—where the rider was luckily unhurt—-will doubtless be yiui into practice here, .
