A MISSING STEAMER.
RELIEF OF DEPENDANTS., By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. SYDNEY, Jan. 19. Mrs. M'Bride, wife of the chief officer of the missing steamer Matunga, has arrived from New Zealand to endeavour to' obtain Government relief. Mr. Hughes, commenting' on the statement that the Commonwealth had failed to provide for tho wivea and children of the missing crew, promiaed that, if the,facts, were, as alleged,-he would see they were dealt with satisfactorily.
