DEFENDED DIVORCE CASE. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. WANGANUI, Nov. 29. A defended divorce case, which occupied the attention of Mr. Justice Edwards and a jury for two days, was concluded to-day. The parties were Edward George' Rabone, contractor (petitioner). Nina Mace Rabone (respondent). Alexander Reid, publican, Hunterville (co-re.- ponden t), from whom petitioner claimed £ISOO damages. Respondent, in her evidence, admitted adultery. The jury returned' a verdict in favour of the petitioner, with £750 damages, and his Honour made a decree nisi, with an order for costs on the highest scale. A JURY DISAGREES. AUCKLAND, Nov. 29. At the Supreme Court, the.jury disagreed in tho trial of Hannah Matilda Dalton, on a charge of manslaughter arising out of the recent alleged illegal operation in Auckland. The indictment charged the prisoner with having, on November 5, committed manslaughter by killing a young unmarried woman named Vera Baker. A new trial .was ordered to take place at the February sittings.
