Sunday afternoon, at 2.30, the New Plymouth Citizens’ Band will give a benefit recital in aid of the Beasley Fund, the scone being the lovely residence and grounds of Mr. Jack Honeyfield, at Moturoa. The grounds are worth visiting themselves, and the trees and general situation afford shelter from almost any wind. It is expected that vocal items will be included in the programme, and afternoon tea will be dispensed by Mrs. Honeyfiold and a committee of ladies. The trams stop at the gates of the residence and a collection will be taken up in aid of the fund. Should the weather be wet and unfavourable, arrangements have been made for the recital to be given in the People’s Picture Theatre at the same hour, the proprietors having placed the theatre at the disposal of the band for this deserving object. Residents are asked to note this fact, also that the band will commence playing half an hour earlier than usual.
