ATTACK ON ROMANIA FROM SODTH. There is not. any very important, news to-day. The • ground gained on the Somme is of great value and the- Gormans arc making every effort to preserve Chanines and Comblcs, which arc now .seriously threatened. 'Germany is apparently beginning to have inklings of the. truth, and Hungary is raging at the lack of foresight which is allowing Eoumania to over-run Transylvania. The Central Powers appear to be making a vigorous attack on the northern frontier of Eoumania, which must be checked at all costs.
