LEPPERTON.
Si«m ODB OWN CUOEE9POKDEN'*. Sept. 6.—Some time since the idea of a side of work in aid of the Red Cross and Naval Dependents was conceived by a Lepperton lady, Miss Hoppell to be caudio, and after ft consultation with the Ladies’ Patriotic Guild, the guild’ wore unanimous in helping the scheme forward, and yesterday their 'labours were amply rewarded. The Mayor of Waitara opened the bazaar, in the presence of a. large assembly, quite a number of New Plymouth ladies being present, and who were at the same tune very active buyers. The total takings were rather over £77, a result which is distinctly gratifying to Miss Heppell and all those who had in any way helped her. The following stalls did a thriving business during tho afternoon and evening:—Produce Stall, Mesdam.es. Blackball, Lopper, Sampson. (2)- and. Trim: Plain. Work, Mesdamee Aekland, Atkinson, It. Giddy, Little and. Miss Luke; Fancy Work. Misses Heppell, Lopper, Clifford.and,.Watkins; Sweets, Mitres Atkinson, Little and, AVheatley. During the afternoon and evening musical items were interspersed by the talented Clifford family, and greatly enjoyed by those present.
