A German communique states:—Repeated Russian efforts west and southwest of Lutsk have completely failed. An Austrian communique reports;— Small local successes are attending the Russian fighting, but south-westward of Fundulmoldavi and the Tartar Pass region the Russian advance was mostly disputed by means of counterattacks, the enemy suffering heavy loss. The enemy’s severe losses southeastward of Brzczany has brought him no advantage. Enemy attacks northward of Zborew, and between Swiniughy and Szelivow, wore carried out with large masses of troops, but they failed.
