AN ELECTION TIE. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPYRIGHT. (Received Dec. 9, 10.20 p.m.) ; SYDNEY, -Dec. 9, In the election, for. Lord Mayor. Aldermen Hogan and Dick Meaghen were the only two candidates, and there! was a dead heat. The meeting was adjourned for a week in order to obtain legal opinion on the position. Prior to the election tho council, on' Mr. Gunber’s motion, decided to reduoai the Lord Mayor's allowance from £ISOO to £IOOO.
