KAIMIRO.

FROM OUE OWN COEEESPONDKfI. Dec. B.—A day or two ago 380 calves assembled at Mr. F. SchiokeNs yards for their blaok-leg pills. The operator got to work shortly after 10 a.m., and. wasted no time. By 2.30 p.m. the last of the poor wretches hurried home, with a portion of the virus under the skin and decorated with the letter S on the neck. The Lepper Road, from here to Inglewood, will, soon be, if it is not already, qualified to claim the distinction of the champion bad road in Taranaki. The Moa Road Board’s staff have lately been engaged in corduroying the soft patches with pine-tops, ana the result is wonderful. It used to be a metal road, one of the best in the district, but is now converted again into a bush track, rough and ready, as it was thirty years ago. , Our head teacher has resigned; reason given for the act is the horrid state of the Lepper Road. As our head teacher is highly esteemed by the parents and loved by tbe children, our loss is serious. The deepest sympathy is felt hero for Mr. and Mrs. John Gibson," who have lost their son Sidney. He was a bright, intelligent, young fellow, and a splendid specimen of Taranaki manhood. He was very popular, and had a large circle of friends. The School Committee met last night. Present: Messrs. O. Peters (chairman), C. F. Mundt, J. Lilly and J. Henderson. After the usual amount of routine business was disposed of the question of filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of the head teacher came up for discussion. It was the general opinion of the committee that the Education Board bo requested to procure,' if possible, a married teacher who would occupy the school residence, which has not been used for the purpose it was built for for many years, on account of single girls filling the position of bead teacher, who preferred hoarding out to housekeeping. The vacant resident has for a long time presented rather a forlorn appearance. The committee expressed regret at the resignation of Miss J. M. Meston, who had filled the position here for about 18 months. Accounts amounting to £2 3s 7d were passed for payment, and the committee adjourned Weather.—Fine, varied by showers; wind, strong <S.S.W.
