SUCCESSFUL BUT NOT POPULAR.
REORGANISATION OF SERBIANS BEGUN. STRONG AMERICAN FEELING AGAINST GERMANY Dr. Dillon informs ns that Greece will probably yield to (he demands of the Allies, but that officials and people will do all they can to create obstacles. At the present time we cannot aim at popularity in Greece, hut must be content if we can secure safety. The best news is that Britain and Prance are landing supplies for the reorganisation of the Serbian army at Albanian ports. The Serbians only need food and aims to become a dangerous enemy once more, and we serve both them and ourselves by putting them once again in a position to fight. There are further reports of German reinforcements for the west, and it cannot bo doubted that they have some movement in view on that front. There are signs that Lord Derby’s recruiting scheme has not‘produced the results hoped for. Strong forces have been at work to make conscription necessary, and these have probably hindered the campaign. The nest move will be awaited with interest.
