FATALITY AT FLAXH3LL. FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. , PALMERSTON N-. Dec. 7. A shocking accident took place Liggins’ mill at Tokomara this morning. A flaxhand, William M'Laren, was oiling the machinery when his clothes caught in the shafting, and he was dashed round, with terrible effects, which resulted in his death. Ho was 22 years old, and a single man. His mother resides at Tokomaru. A MURDERER’S DEATH. AUCKLAND, Dec. 6. George Gordon,; who murdered the woman he was living with and one of her children, Hied in the hospital from sHf-intiioted injuries. > ACCIDENT AT FREEZING WORKS. ' MASTERTON, Dec. 6. A man named Charles Bedford, married, and with a family of seven, children, was shockingly crushed at ’ the Waingawa meat works to-day by a faH of manure. He is now in the hospital in a critical condition.
