ipom ona own ronuFsroNnKffi Dec. 2.—A meeting of ratepayers was hold in tho Pukeanmo Schoolroom last Wednesday evening to discuss the loan of £IOOO which was raised from the Advances to Settlers Office for tho purpose of continuing the portions of uninetalled road between tho Mimi and Pukearuhc. There were present: Messrs. \V. J. Freeth, C. Rowe, A. Sorensen, J. W. H. Martin, P. Wells. W. J. Bowman, A. R. Davis, and H. Wells. Air. Martin was voted to tho chair. After considerable discussion concerning the procuring of metal and road formation work it was unanimously resolved to expend the whole of the above loan money, plus the £7OO grant from the Government. £3OO or which was passed on the Supplementary Estimates.
A deputation consisting of Messrs. Martin. Freeth, Davis. Bowman, and A. Sorenson was appointed to wait on the council at its next mooting, with tho view of pushing on tho roadwork and other matters connected therewith.
Tho trustees, Messrs. A. Sorenson and A. R. Davis, who wore appointed by the Pnkearuhe-Mimi Sports Club Committee have decided to withdraw from the Savings Bank the trust money, amounting to about £ll, and allocate two-thirds of the amount to the Pukenruhe District Piano Fund and the balance to the Mimi.
On the motion of Mr. H. Wells, seconded by Air. A. R. Davis, it was decided to hand over the whole of tho Pukenruhe patriotic proceeds in connection with Urenui Gala Day to the Belgian Fund.
