i ■ ■ j PEOPLE’S DAY. j A BIG CROWD, I Favoured with beautiful weather, there was a very large crowd at the Stratford A. and P. Association’s annual show on Thursday—People's Day. As on the first day, everything passed off splendidly, thanks to the thoroughness with which every official of the association curried out his particular duties. Tlio parade which took place during the afternoon was admirably marshalled by Mr. A. Stewart and his assistant, Mr. 11. D. Cameron, and formed a magnilicent spectacle. The entrv in this section was not up to last year, hilt still the dogs benched were a verv good class. Mrs. J. Cole, of Waitm-a", won the three dog classes for pointers with David Copperheld, and the same exhibitor's bitch, Lily poppcrfield, won ono second and two thirds. Mrs. Cole won tho brace class. Keith Bayly, of Omata, won three seconds with his' retriever puppy Nigger, and F. Patterson’s (New Plymouth) Kate won in bitches. A. Mack’s Toiler took several awards in working collies. Mr. Kirkby (New Plymouth) won three firsts with his Irish 'terrier dog Pukokura Pincher and also the special, and Mrs. G. H. Sounders won all the bitch classes with Pukeknva Prodigy., Mrs. Saunders also won a special prize for the best dog crate.
