DENBIGH ROAD.
JfKUAI OOtt OWN COUUtSPONUENT. December 3.—The road was practically deserted to-day and silence reigned around, tbo folk having made for the centre of attraction, the show.l For a wonder wo were blessed with a lino / day, and the show grounds looked well, being' covered with a largo crowd of people. How a fine day does improve tho aspect of things 1 Some very pretty toilettes were to be seen on many of the ladies present. The local school had a holiday for the occasion. The sixth class from our school are to be examined for proficiency next Monday and are to travel to Stratford, I am told, through a mistake, where tho examination is to be held. The stock doctor paid us a visit on Wednesday, an unexpected visit by most of the farmers, some of whom had gone- to the show. However, the majority managed to get their calves down in time to be vaccinated. I see by the papers that other districts besides ours are suffering from the effects of the electrical storms on the chicken returns, many sittings having proved failures hero also. Suppliers to the Midhirst Factory wore paid at the rate of Is Id per pound on the butter-fat for the mouth of October. The rough weather has greatly diminished the milk supply, some of the farmers having dropped to half of the quantity they had before the had weather came.
