WAITARA
frou otrß own roiinrsroNOKNT. December 2.—Following their appointment on Monday night the subcommittee met at 8 o’clock yesterday morning to consider the arranging of a carnival at tho beginning of Match in order to raise a lump sum for tile Wounded Soldiers' Fund. After only an hour's work the outlines of ’ scheme were di;awn up ready for report to the main committee next week. It has been decided by tbo Ttormurh Council that a speed limit of six miles an hour for motors and moter-evcles bo included in tbo borough by-laws. It has been pointed out to me, however, that a good many cars and cycles are unable to travel at that pace—they cither have to exceed that speed or stop running altogether. Cattle and sheep are coming into tho works freely and tho same remark applies to wool. An express arrived yesterday loaded with wool, which might he estimated to be worth £250. The fine morning has decided a good many townspeople to go to Stratford for the day. Wars may rage, kingdoms threaten and fall, but here tho children must have their Santa Claus and their happy time whatever mav betide, so bring them to Tho Big Store. Waitara,' where, amongst tho toys, dolls and playthings, yon will find just what tho children, like best.*
