FARMERS’ INCOME-TAX.
’ TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The thanks of the farming-com-munity are due to you for your admirable articles in last Saturday’s Budget on the question of the farmers’ incometax. I think that one is quite justified in assuming that not 50 per cent, of the farming community will either understand or be able to meet the requirements of this stupendously toolish Act, One can but wonder what our country members were .doing to allow such an abominable enactment to pass without a firm and united protest, if the Government wishes to make lunatics of us all, such actions are the right way to go about it.—l am, etc., GEORGE HUTCHINS.
