The Carnival Committee met in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening (Mr. S. G. Smith in the chair). There was an excellent attendance of over tuirty members, and the greatest enthusiasm was displayed. There is no doubt that the committee is an excellent one; there are no shirkers; cvcryono is only too eager to give all the assistance ho can. The names of Messrs. Bond, Roebuck, and Malam were added, to each of whom duties wore assigned. The work to-morrow is well divided up among sub-committees, and cadi sub-commits too is held responsible for its own duties without bothering anyone else, so if anything goes wrong • ——. Arrangements wore' made for the disposal of Mrs. May's doll and Mr. J, Avery’s watch. The same route .for tho procession is to bo taken as last time. Mr. Moon presented a draft copy of the programme, which after one or two changes was adopted. The auction of a number of nrtides made in tho procession will take place at 4.30 o’clock, during which time tho programme will bo suspended. Messrs, a. J. Smith and C. Roebuck will take charge of cutting the ham string. Mr. Hoffmann of hoopla, Sergeant-Major "Williamson and other De/onoo officers will have charge of Smash 0 the Kaiser, and Mr. Findlay will look after clock golf. As many of the committee as possible will, meet on tho grounds' this afternoon to get things in order. Mr. Gray is lending a largo tent and other things from the Technical College. The committee will meet on tho grounds at 8.30 to-morrow morning.
