Raukiu, under continuous fire, laid a wire over a broken telepnone section, enabling the battery Commander to resume control. Caseiburg, at Hill 60, went out several times under heavy fire and guided a number of detacned parties wao bud scattered in the darkness and lost kacir bearings. Atkins led a section and captured and held a strong defended enemy post which was directing* heavy fire on the head oi an advancing column. O'Connor, though slightly wounded, entered a shell swept zone and curried in two wounded men and went out again and helped a wounded olbccr to safety. . Ridgoon stuck to his post, though wounded. He also did gallant work m rescuing wounded men under heavy fire. . Skinner, although seriously wounded, delivered an important message under heavy fire. Becker did valuable service m supplying the firing line on the mountain top at Chunuk Bahr with ammunition and water, also in guiding a reinforcing regiment and bringing in a wounded man.

Mahoney volunteered to rescue men isolated within the enemy’s linos who had been for fifteen days missing. Under great difficulty and danger his coolness and knowledge of scouting led ultimately to the men’s descue. Medals were also awarded to nineteen Australians.
