A fortnight ago a paragraph was published to tho effect that Mr. F. J. Pryor, of Hamilton, had received 7 a parcel containing the effects of his son, Trooper F. T. Pryor, a member of the Auckland Mounted Rifles at Gallipoli, labelled “Dead soldiers’ effects.” This was the only information Mr. Pryor received of bis" son’s death. Since the arrival of the parcel, however, he. has received a letter from his, son, written on September 11, apparently a good deal later than the dispatch of the parcel, stating that ho is alive and well and has returned to duty.
