CREATING A DISPUTE.
AUCKLAND UNION’S INTERFERENCE. The Auckland Motor Car Vid Horse Drivers’ Industrial Union oi Workers are endeavouring to create a "dispute” in Taranaki and have cued manj- Now Plymouth firms, and quite a number of Stratford employers also, to appear at tho Council oi Conciliation, New Plymouth, on November 111. The document issued is a curiosity in that it seems to have included a largo proportion of carriers and liv-ery-stable keepers who have been in business in tlie past in this town. Some of them, alas;, arc no more, and few of those cited are now resident in Stratford, if they are still in the loud of tlie living. On the other hand, singularly, the people who are carriers or employ carters, and who would, of course, lie bound by any agreement which may be arrived at in tho forthcoming meeting of tho Council of Conciliation are not asked to appear. It will probably he news to some of thorn to know that somebody has discovered that "an industrial dispute” has arisen between the Auckland Motor Car and Horse Drivers' Union of Wotkors and—very many residents of Stratford ! The following are a few extracts from tho Union’s demands:—A 17{ hour week.
