MILITARY SUPPLIES.
LARGE QUANTITY REQUIRED
FACTORIES HARD AT WORK
PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.
WELLINGTON. Oct. 19. The Hon. Arthur M. Myers, Minister of Munitions and Supplies, is remaining in Wellington, being fully occupied in making arrangements for large quantities of supplies that are required by the military authorities. "When it is considered that with the men now in training, and those to bo called up to the end of the year, the number exceeds 15,000, and that a further 30,000 will be called up in 1916; also that each soldier requires to be provided with three issues of various articles, the importance o fthe activities of the Supplies Department will be readily realised. Tho demand for supplies is a very heavy one, and our resources arc being taxed to tho utmost to fulfil requirements satisfactorily. Mr. Myers, however, expresses his appreciation of the patriotic spirit displayed by warehousemen and other trading establishments, and also by their employees in doing everything possible to increase the output to the desired quantity, and he hopes that .given the same assistance in the future, there will he no serious difficulty in meeting the demands of the military authorities.
