THE LADIES’ TOURNAMENT. TER PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Sept. 12. The New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Championship Tournament .was continued on Saturday, when tho seventh round was played,- all games being keenly contested. Wairarapa and Wellington put up a particularly strenuous match, the city girls failing after desperate endeavours to avert defeat. Poverty Bay have one more match to play against Wellington, hut even if they should lose this the Poverty Bay girl’s have secured the championship, while if Wellington bent the Gisbornites to-morrow they will tie with W airarapa for second honours. Yesterday s results: Wairarapa beat Wellington by 1 goal to 0; Poverty Bay beat Wanganui by 5 goals to- 1; Manawatu beat Hawke’s Bay by 1 goal to .0.
