THE DARDANELLES. GERMANS WOUNDED IN MUTINY, TIKES AND SYDNEY SUN SERVICES. ' (Received Sept. 13, 8 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 12. Bucharest reports that seven German officers in a German hospital at Constantinople were wounded in a mutiny by Turkish soldiers. Disquieting conditions prevail in Persia and 1 the Government is apparently powerless to suppress the disorder. The gendarmerie is unpaid and disaffected German intrigue is rampant. The attack on’ the British Consul at Ispahan brought matters to a head and the situation is, critical. TURKISH CAMP BOMBARDED, Sept., 10. Britisli destroyers and allied : aeroplanes bombarded the Turkish camps at Aivali on September 8, doing great damage. There were many casualties. A second squadron successfully bombarded the Smyrna fortifications. , PARIS, Sept. 12. Le Temps’ correspondent at Dedea-; catch- says that the majority of the heavy cannon' at Adrianople and Lulo Burgas lias been transferred to Bulair and Gallipoli. AMSTERDAM, Sept. 10. A Turkish official report says: Our artillery at Ahafarta on Wednesday caused explosions in the enemy jkdsitions southward of Azmakdere. The enemy successfully dropped bombs on oUr-lcft wing at Ari Burnu, and there, was a feeble artillery duel at SedduL Bahr. INGENIOUS COMPENSATION. CONSTANTINOPLE. Sept. 10i Official.—The Porte has decided to compensate owners of property damaged by hostile bombardments which cqn’flict with the principles of humanity from the property of people of hostile countries. REVOLT AGAINST GERMANS. MILAN, Sept. 11. II Corriero della Sera says that seven German officers have arrived in. Constantinople, wounded by Turkish soldiers who are revolting against German severity. Apparently the‘Turkish officers fiave not attempted to restrain their men. Several officers from Adrianople have been imprisoned for : cofispiring against their German colleagues. . . ■ SOFIA. Sept. 12. Tewfik Bey and another Moslem deputy have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the murder of Mebod Pasha, a prominent member of the Old Turk Party in the Sobranje. Sixteen Britishers were killed and eighty-eight wounded.
