BOTH YOUNG AND OLD CALLED UP. LONDON, Sept. 5. Lo Temps, commenting on the official information that Germany is sending 300,000 men monthly to the different fronts to make up the wastage, says it is idle to speculate how long Germany will be able to keep up the supply of reserves, because it is not _ known how many she intends to mobilise, hut wo believe the figures surpass all previous estimates, because Germany will finally sacrifice children of sixteen and men of sixty. Apparently Germany is already embarrassed by the lack of men, for since the great offensive on Russia, Germany’s losses have increased to such proportions that she is unable to make good with reserves and has either called out or is about to‘call out every possible man. At the present moment Germany is incorporating the final classes of the second band of the Landsturm, forty-three to forty-five, and also the 1916 class. She still has the 1917 class, and is also inspecting youths of the 1918 class. THE NEW ZEPPELINS. BERNE, Sept. 6. Trials of the newest Zeppelins show that they attain a very great speed. Lateral rudders also enable them to turn rapidly and manoeuvre better. The envelope is silver-grey, which does not reflect the sun, and is invisible oven at a moderate height in a grey sky. VIENNA, Sept. 5. The Austrian War Office has made an urgent appeal for old clothes for the winter campaign. Owing to the enemy cutting off imports, the homo production is utterly roadeqnate.
