TARATA.

FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. A wedding of considerable interest to Tarata was celebrated at Whakaronga, Palmerston North, on the 7th inst., the contracting parlies being Mias Ellen Pratt, onlv daughter of 1 Mr. and Airs. Pratt, of 'Whakaronga, and Mr. LindBay Brightwell. eldest son of Airs. Brightweli, of this district. Tie ceremony was hold at the residence of the bride’s parents. The bride was beautifully gowned in a dress of (Team satin, with'ah overdress of lace. bhe wore the orthodox veil and wreath, and carried a lovely bouquet. Iho bridesmaids. Aliases Eva and Ivy Pratt, nieces of the bride, wore white muslin dresses with hats to match. Air. Benjamin Pratt acted as best man. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the dining-room, whore a sumptuous breakfast was partaken of. Later in the afternoon iho happy couple loft for A\anganui, where tno honeymon is to be spent. Tito ladies of Tarata are at present energetically collecting to provide a parcel of comforts to forward to our boys who aro at present in training at Trenthazn. These articles will be greatly appreciated, as the men have experienced some very rough weather for camping, and we hop© our gifts reach their destination safely. Rain has been tho order of tbo day, and settlors residing on rand roads aro experiencing considerable difficulty already in moving backwards and forwards.
