PEUM ODH OWN CORRESPONDENT. Juno 24.—Owing to several cases of diphtheria, in the town, tho State school is to be closed until Monday next. For the same reason the Juno tea is postponed for a month, and tho Sunday schools are being discontinued. These steps taken to chock the spread of disease are all right so far as they go, but it is only tinkering with the mutter. There was a largo gathering yesterday afternoon at the burial of little Eva Jenkins —a testimony of sympathy with tho bereaved parents and family. Tho poll on tho Waitara Harbour Loan will be taken on Wednesday, July 21. _____
