MISCELLANEOUS. Tho board, in committee, consented to a. number of mortgages under tho various Acts. I?. W. Smith, licensee of section 3, block 4, Hoao, 361 acres, applied to forfeit section, as ho could not comply with conditions on account of sickness in family.—Forfeited. IV. Cbaytor, lessee of section 5, block 14, Ohura, 169 acres, applied for exemption from residence on account of his wife’s health. —Granted 12 months’ exemption from personal residence. Christopher Carter, lessee of section 548 etc., New Plymouth, lease expiring March, 1916, forwarded notice of his appointment of arbitrator for renewal lease.—lt was resolved to appoint an arbitrator for the Crown. Messrs. Simson Bros., lessees of section 11, Clandon Settlement, appealed against tho decision of tho board to forfeit the holding for non-residence. Mr. Simson appeared before the board, and

it was decided to rescind the forfeiture decreed on the 26th ult., lessees to be warned that they must strictly comply with the' requirements of tho Act relating to personal residence. The Whangamoraona Connty Council forwarded proposals for expenditure of £3BO Is Id accrued thirds.—Approved, subject to satisfactory report from the Crown Lands Ranger. The .Okato Road Board forwarded proposals for the expenditure of £4 Os 2d, accrued thirds.—Approved. W. J. Murcott, lessee of section 6, block 10, Mapara, applied for leave of absence, as ho was about to volunteer for active service abroad,—Granted 12 months’ exemption from personal residence if licenseo accepted for active service.

The Receiver of Land Revenue was authorised, in terms of section 74 of the Land Act. to deni with tho disbursement of £4O, value for improvements effected and paid for on section 9, block 1. Pouatu S.D., which has boon resclected.

J. IV. Burgess, lessee of section part 68, Mon District, expiring June 30, iOlo; having failed to appoint an arbitrator, after having been served with tlic requisite notice, it was proposed to art in terms of section 7, sub-section (b), of the Arbitration Act. 1908, and appoint the board’s arbitrator to act as sole arbitrator in the reference.—Adjourned. The Receiver of Land Revenue submitted a statement of selectors in arrcar with rental payments, which ho had failed to collect after making the usual demands.—lt was resolved that defaulters be given, until July 31 next to pay np, otherwise the collection of tiie arrears will be placed in the hands of the Crown solicitor.
