COMING SESSION.
MEMBERS’ LATE ARRIVAL. OPPOSITION CAUCUS TO-DATA 11V TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. , WELLINGTON, June 22. Only about halt-ardozen of Parliament, representing the districts outside of Wellington, have as yet arrived here, and the air of solitude about the Parliamentary Buildings is quite unusual for the near approach of the session. A considerable number of members are expected to arrive to-mor-row, and tho last batch will put in an appearance on Thursday morning in readiness for the opening ceremony that afternoon. A caucus of the Opposition Party will bo hold to-morrow, when the attitude to be adopted by the party in regard to the work of tho session will bo discussed. A caucus of the Government Party will also probably be held in a few days. , Very little more than formal business will be transacted by Parliament' this week. The Imprest Supply Bill will be passed on Friday or on Tuesday next. The swearing-in of members and the election of a Speaker will be the only business done' in the House on Thursday. The references to the death of the late Mr, E. G. J. Stevens, M.L.C., and to the death of several exmombovs of the Legislature may be expected to take place on Friday. Tho ex-members who have passed away since hist session include the. Hons. W. Montgomery and F. Arkwright,• oxM.’s.L.C., and Messrs. Wilson, J. Bollard, F. T. Lethbridge, and Felix APGuire, ox-M.’s.P. Tho debate on the Address-in-Reply in the House will commence on Tuesday or Wednesday next. Mr. Parr (Eden) will move the Address-in-llepiy, and Air. W. Downie Stewart (Dunedin West) will second it.
