SYDNEY, June, 17, Hcrvcy, retried on a charge of forging a telegram, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, cumulative on tho previous sentence. Tho Judge, in sentencing the prisoner, said: “You appear to bo a past master in scoundrelism,' and you are a danger to the community. You have‘shown great ability in crime.” PROHIBITION TEACHING IN SCHOOLS. (Received Juno 18, 9.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 13. Mr. Griffith, replying to a prohibition party deputation asking that school children should be taught the injurious effect of liquor, said: "If I were Czar in this country I would abolish tho sale of intoxicants altogether.” Ho added that a text-bool: was being prepared to meet the deputation’s request.
