Allen states that the new artillery units accepted by the Imperial authorities are already undergoing training at Trentham. The .whole of the N.C.O.’s and most of the officers required for tho new infantry battalions will be brought into camp next Wednesday. The officers and N.C.O.’s v-'i 1L bp put through a thorough course of preliminaiy training, after which the. men will be brought into camp to undergo four months’ training. Intending recruits are registering in satisfactory numbers, but in view of the increased offer by the New Zealand Government it will be necessary to find 6000 additional recruits within the next ’ six weeks. After Juno other drafts would be called up,, and the more names registered the better.
