At Rahotu on Tnesday, 6th inst., for my first sale after the holidays I had a small entry, for which 1 had keen demand, all being sold at the following prices;—Good weaner steers £2 4s 6d, small £1 9s to £1 12s, weaner heifers £1 2s, mixed weaners (small) £1 3s, store to forward cows £4 2s to £5 17s, small cows £3, aged cows £2 12s, fat heifers £5 3s, small springing heifers £4. At Urenui on Wednesday for an off day I had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. Small weaners made £1 10s, Holstein two-year in-calf hpifors £4 7s 6d to £S, 15-month steers £2 17s to £3 10s, Jersey 15-month steers £1 12s 6d to £2 2s, empty heifers £1 17s 6d to £3 Bs, store cows £3 to £4 3s, forward cows £4 14s to £6 3s, fat cows £8 Ss to £9 Bs, fat bullocks £ll 19s 6d to £l2 12s 6d, bulls £5 to £7 17s 6d. At Kohnratahi on Wednesday, 7th inst., I had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Sheep met with very keen competition, all lots being sold •t prices very satisfactory to the vendors. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., reports as follows: At Westfield, on Thursday, host dairy cows, close to profit, sold at from £7 to £S 15s; others, £4 to £6 10s; empty cows, £3 to £4 4s; calves, 80s to £2 2s for the best; others, 12s 6d to 225; bulls, £3 to £5. At Papakura, on Tuesday, two to three-year-old steers made from £5 17s fid to £7; yearling to 18-month steers, £3 10s to £5; good steer calves, £2 2s to £2 12s od; others, 20s to 38s ; mixed sexes, calves, 10s to £1; empty cows, £3 to £4 Iss; heifers, £2 10s to £3 15s; bulls, £3 to £7 os; dairy cows, best, £8 to £11; others, £3 to £7 los; beef sold at fully Westfield rates. At Westfie\d, on Wednesday, prices were fully up to last week’s quotations, prime oxen selling to £2 2s per 1001 b. ; others, 36s to £2; cows and heifers, 30s to 36s per 1001 b.; steers sold at £0 10s to £22; cows and heifers, £4 10s to £l3 Sfi; a draft of 20 steers from Mr. Robert Clark, Karaka, averaged £l6 7s, and other consignments of sleers averaged over £l4 ss; a throe and ahalf year old steer bred and fattened by Mr. R. Clark realised £22. Extra heavy vealers sold at from £6 to £6 17s 6d; heavy vealers, £4 to £5 10s; lighter, £2 to £3 18s; smaller, 20s to 38s; small and fresh dropped, 3s to 18s; best wethers, 27s 6d to 30s; others, 22s 6d to 25s 9d; heavy ewes. 22s to 23s Sd; others, 17s 6d to 21s; hoggets, 19s to 20s 9d.
