INGLEWOOD.

FROM OUR OWN COBBBBPOND7.VT. Cot. 14.—1 most apologise for an error in my last letter with reference to the work on the bowling green, whore I stated that this was under the care of Mr. T. King. Mr. King was last season’s caretaker, but the work this season has been done by Mr, B. Codd, who has spent a great deal of time and attention to the preparation of the green, and it is to Mr. Codd that tho howlers are indebted for his gratuitous services, as a result of which the lawn is better than it has ever been before. Mr. King has the care of the tennis courts, and also the golf links. Mr. B. D. lingers has purchased a new Hupmobile two-seater car, which adds still another to tho automobiles of this district. There are now eighteen privately-owned cars and three plying for hire in Inglewood and its immediate vicinity. An endeavour is being made to form an Advisory _ Board in Inglewood in connection with the “Home Building Society,” for the encouragement and supervision of future town-planning purposes. The society’s representative is at present visiting Inglewood. The Operatic Society are now “entering the straight” with their rehearsals Tor the production of “Dorothy” on November 11 and 12. Suitable arrangements have been made for procuring the scenery and costumes, and if tho assiduous practice of the performers is rewarded their performance should he well worth seeing. Tho proceeds are to be devoted to the Patriotic Pund. The Church of England is holding a bazaar on the 28th instant, and no effort is being spared to make this a suc'4l6S.
