THE AUCKLAND MATCHES.

Tho dates for the Auckland matches at Auckland were discussed, and decided to ask Auckland to play Taranaki at Auckland on August 1, and Taranaki 13. at Auckland on August 22. Originally tho A team was fixed to play at -Auckland on August 22. hut as Taranaki has to play Canterbury for the Itanfurly, Shield on the Thursday previous, and Southland the Thursday after, it was considered that the visit to Auckland on August 22 would bo too big a rush. Mr. A. L. Humphries was appointed manager of the Taranaki team to visit Auckland on August 1. COMMITTEE MEETING.

Tho following remaining business was transacted at the meeting of the management committee:— Spurdle (Clifton II.) was cautioned for questioning a referee’s decision. The home-and-bome system of cup play-offs cannot be introduced this year. A. Standard (Inglewood II.) was suspended for a month for striking an opponent. Reinstatements applied for before the conclusion of tne first round were granted; but others were declined. Star and Tukapa will be asked to play a coastal team in aid Tamu fund, as requested by the "Kasper Cup compeltriors. Clifton will bo informed of the conditions under which L. Whitaker, a junior, played iu tho 13 team without losing his junior status. Should Stratford win in tho senior competition of tho north end the playoff will take place at Hawera; if Clifton, at Stratford. The committee had no jurisdiction in tho matter of reinstating P. Allen (now playing tho League game), as asked by the Star Chib.

J. Gtiger (Star II.), ordered off for disputing the referee's decision and using bad language, will be suspended pending an explanation. Waimato Club will be asked to explain what Kaponga termed its “unsportsmanlike” conduct in reinstating a batch of seniors to first juniors in order to defeat the Kaponga team on July 13. Andrews (Kaponga II.) and Wm. Grant (Hawcra II.), for abusive language and retaliating on an opponent, will bo asked for an explanation, and the Kaponga Club- will be warned concerning the type of “barrackors” accompanying the junior team, some of these having incited the Kaponga team not to take the field.
