ARMY OFFICERS AND POLITICS

OPENING, OF A GREAT CONFLICT.

BITTER CLASS CONTEST IMMINENT.

SHALL THE MASSES OR CLASSES RULE ?

It is quite clear from the discussions taking place in the House of Commons, and the expressions of opinion in the press, that more than the Home Rule question is involved in the present struggle. The Conservatives are rejoicing over a temporary victory, because it is evident the army will refuse to coerce Lister, hut the Liberals -will appeal to the country to refuse to be dominated by the class to which the officers in the array belong, and the struggle will be a severe one.
