Owing to the unsettled weather, it would ho some time in tho early part of next week before it was completed. • UPPER EGMONT ROAD. The Hon. W. Fraser, Minister for Public Works, replied to tho board’s inquiry regarding the amount provided for Upper Egmont Road. Ho stated that the sum of £2OO was provided on the appropriations this year, against which £ll 7 9s 2d had already been authorised and expanded, leaving an unauthorised balance of £B2 10s lOd. Mr. H. Okey, M.P., wrote that last week, in communication with the Public Works Department, he found that tho vote for tho rohd above the gate leading to the Mountain House hud been mixed up with the vote for expenditure below tne gate. He had at once written to the Minister on the matter. The vote for the board was a full £IOO for expenditure on tho Egmont Road below the gate. Tho liability mentioned was on tuo vote under the control of tho North Egmont Park Board. Tho Chairman suggested that the money should be expended by providing 114 cubic- yards of metal between Lepper Road and Mrs. Patterson’s, and dO cubic yards between Egmont- Village and a point half a mile from the village. Mr. G. T. Murray, Resident Road Engineer, wrote approving of the board's suggestions for the expenditure of tho money, and asked for short specifications in duplicate. EVERETT ROAD. The Under-Secretary of the Public Works Department wrote acknowledging receipt of the board's letter relative to tho vote of £2OO appearing upon the public works appropriations for Everett Road, and in reply ho stated that it was proposed that the expenditure of this vote should be carried out by the board. The State Guaranteed Advances Office wrote stating that the board s letter applying for a loan of £ioCo to form and "metal tho Everett Road had duly come- to hand. In reply ho enclosed a preliminary application form for the required particulars to be inserted, and stated 'that tho application would he submitted fer the consideration of tho board at its next meeting. K.OHETE ROAD BRIDGES. In a supplementary report dealing with the Kohoto Hoad bridges, Foreman Bennett said that all were in about the same condition, but the second was the one on which ho had reported two vears previously. Fie had inspected the bridges lately, and he was of opinion that the second bridge would have to receive immediate attention. He understood that the board’s engineers had found that tho first bridge should be rebuilt first, but the foreman suggested that if tho timber was not yet to hand tho second bridge should ho rebuilt first. It was reported that the . proper lengths for the first bridge had already been ordered, so that the second bridge could not be attended to just yet. GENERAL. Mr. R. Ellis, clerk to the Taranaki County Council, forwarded debit note for £i 10s, being estimated cost of reinstating X-eppor-Carrington cross road iu terms of agreement between the board and the late Waiwakaiho road district. .The Waitava West Road Board forwarded cheque for £4 9s, grant made for repairs to York Road. Tenders were opened for the supply of metal for the Egmont Road v but the price was considered too high and they were not accepted. The chairman’s action in authorising the expenditure of £ol in metalling 9 chains on the Upland Road South was approved. Tenders were opened for tho supply of metal on the Egmont Road, hut as they were considered too high, neither was accepted. Tho matter was left to the chairman to arrange. A stock-drover reported to be' using tho Norfolk East Road for grazing purposes is to bo-informed that he,must discontinue the practice.’otherwise prosecution will follow.

The chairman and Mr. Hcpson were appointed to sign the rate-book. Accounts amounting to £274 14s were passed tor payment.
