BOWLING.
AUCKLAND VISITORS. . Fourteen members of tho Auckland Bowling Club arrived in New Plymouth by tho mail train on Thursday night and five more by tho Rarawa this morning. This morning they visited tho oil wells and njinerv and were much interested in all they saw there. This afternoon they aro playing the West End Chib. On Monday morning they will play a match on the New Plymouth green against the rinks which visited Auckland last year. On Saturday afternoon they will play the town club for the cup which was subscribed for by members of both chibs for annual coinjietition. On 'Monday afternoon a match will be played on tho Fitzroy green, and most of the visitors will leave by Tuesday morning’s mail train, the others reluming the same night by the Rarawa. The names of tho visitors are: Messrs, Coldicutt, Pattison, Diddams, Prime, Shaw, Lovell, Hemus, Court, Ashton, Roberts, Wilson, Mowburn, Oarlaw, Atkins, Cnlpan, Mackay, J. V. Dingle A. D. Gray, and B. Buttle. The Auckland bowlers played Stratford two matches on Thursday, winning in the morning and losing in the afternoon. The following rinks have been selected to represent tho New Plymouth Club against the Auckland Club’s rinks on Saturday afternoon for tho inter-club cup:—O. Bundle. Cunningham, Medley, A. K. Smart (sk.); Fookes, Blundellj Paul, H. Smart (sk.); Luscombe, Grey, S. Firth (sk.): Goldwatcr, Penn, Harrison. Bary (sk.). On Wednesday the Auckland howlers played Hawcra, who defeated them by 105 to 80. . The following rinks (chiefly composed of those who visited .-lackland last year) will play Auckland on Monday morning on the town green:—Himiie. Govettj. Luscornhe. Goldwater (skip); Chaney. Cock, Jenkinsou. A. K. Smart (skip); Phillips, Fookcs. J. C, Morey. 13. Smart (skin); Fraser. T. Avery, S. Paul. S. Bundle (skin); Rawlings. Cutfield, Cunningham, Harrison (skip). If any of these are unable, to play on Monday morning, will they please inform the secretary (Air. Ewing) on Saturday. The visiting howlers will he entertained at a smoke concert at Messrs. May and Arrowsmith’s room on Saturday evening.
