AN HOTEL DISCUSSION.

LEADS TO FATALITY. BT ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPYRIGHT. (Received Nov. 14, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 14. During an argument in an hotel late at night between two Melbourneites and a Sydneyite, as to the respective merits of the Yarra and Parramatta Ri\\P's as rowing courses, Dubos, aged twenty-one, a Sydneyite, declared that he could swim across the Yarra and back. Dubos swam across and his companions shouted to him to wait there and they would briug his clothes over the bridge, but Dubos plunged in. He had nearly reached the hank when he was seized with cramp. One of his companions jumped in but got into difficulties and had to be rescued himself. Dubos was drowned.
