A GIRL MURDERED.

Details of the murder oi .u,u t5 ..,ct Kathleen Redwell, aged 16 J, the daughter of a farmer on the ChesKunt estate, near Deloraiue, show that it was one of the mbst dastardly crimes in the annals of Tasmania. The girl left home on Sunday afternoon to join her parents, who wore visiting another settler. The girl was waylaid at a lonely spot on the Springdale road and molested. The murderer was frustrated in his attack and then shot the nirl, blowing off a portion of her head. The body was found in a depression at a little distance off the track. At the inquest the father gave evidence that the girl was not in the habit of walking with anyone. She was strong and healthy and oh the best of terras with her family. Medical evidence showed that there wore bruises on both thighs. Tho shot was fired from a distance of two or three feet. No strangers have been in the neighbourhood lately, so there is no clue to the perpetrator.
