ARMY BEEF CONTRACT.
SECURED BY BORTHWIOKS. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPYRIGHT, (Received Sept. 12, 11.30 a.ra.) LONDON, Sept. 11. The Pall Mall Gazette states that Borthwicks, Ltd., has secured the army contract for frozen beef at about 3id, the Government supplying the transport. Many old contractors complain that middlemen are being squeezed out. The army in the future will have frozen beef on three days and fresh beef on four days in the week. The.soldiers dislike edd mutton, also the fact that mutton is always frozen.
