WIN FOR JULIAN. BY rLECTVIC TELEGRAPH. —COPYRIGHT. MELBOURNE. July 20. On Saturday the Leamington Hurdle Race was won bv Julian, tho New Zealander from Wi'iqgarar, Portlook; and five others. Julian won easily by two. lengths and a 3mm. 48Jsec. WELLINGTON MEETING. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, July 20. Tho winter meeting,of tho Wellington Raffing Club was concluded to-day in dull and drizzling weather, but despite this fact there was a larye attendance. Tho course was heavy ad the times were very slow, though the, racing was interesting. The stipendiary stewards held an inquiry into the handling of Paritutu and Haskaync. Tlte former, which was ridden by R. Thompson, started- iu the July Steeplechase and was 'unplaced, while the latter' wV>n the Winter Oats. “In both as the official report puts it, “some aylvico ivas tendered and no further action taken.” . Business at: the tetelisatnr,, was again 'brisk,, the sum of £30,4'5v going through the machine, as agates* £21,000' for the corresponding day ah the previous winter fixture, making a total for the meeting of £56,603 10s, as against £34,603 for, tho 1912 meeting. Results:— Winter Oats Handicap, 1 mile.—Haskayne 1, Kiirain 2, Diavolo 3. Also started: Domino, Sir Knox, Toney, Semaphore, Negative, Ceylon, Otahu, Royal Arms, Toviotdale, and Eedkm. Won by three lengths, two lengths separating'second and third. Time, Imat. 49 l-osec.
Final Hurdlo Handicap, 1} miles.— Darby Paul 1, Stevens 2, Red Earl 3. Also started: Coronetted, Bollin, Kauroa, Watchchain, Abcrbrothock, Euroco, Cally Bridge, aijd Waione. Won by three lengths.
